Our Services

At Veterans Support Northern Ireland (AAVS), we’re here for the people who’ve served – and for the families who’ve stood alongside them. We understand that life after service isn’t always easy. Whether it’s dealing with physical injuries, invisible wounds, or simply finding a sense of belonging again, we know that support matters – and it needs to be there when and where it’s needed most.

That’s why we’ve made it our mission to provide genuine, practical and emotional support that’s not only high quality, but also easy to access. We believe veterans and their families should never have to fight to be heard or helped. From our base in Belfast and through our outreach work across the region, we aim to ensure that no one is left behind.

Our team – many of whom are veterans themselves – bring lived experience, compassion, and real understanding to everything we do. Whether someone is walking through our doors for the first time, joining one of our breakfast clubs, accessing our respite support, or just needs someone to talk to, we meet them with respect, dignity and no judgement.

We don’t claim to have all the answers, but we work hard every day to make a difference – one person, one family, one step at a time.

If you’ve served, or supported someone who has, you’re part of our community. And at AAVS, community means connection, care and being there – not just in words, but in action.

Linda - A Veterans Daughter

“My dad hadn’t been away in years, so getting the chance to take him to the Veterans Support NI respite caravan in Millisle meant so much to us. His Army service is long behind him, but when we arrived and your team greeted us and showed us around, it clearly meant a lot to him. He was in his element chatting away with them – they had so much in common. It was lovely to see him so relaxed and happy, and those moments will stay with us.”
